Luang Prabang Laos

Luang Prabang is a small town on the Mekong River. There are many guest houses for tourist who are starting to come to the area which is pretty and has a very relaxed and gentle pace. The photo of an eating area was the breakfast area for our guest house and it was across the street, under shady trees, overlooking the Mekong River. The lines of monks collecting alms along the street at 6 a.m. is another attraction for tourists. Many of the buildings have French shutters and doors. The mosaics completely covered a temple. The buckets of water being thrown over passing traffic is an annual celebration for New Year which was about to start.

Siem Reap Cambodia

Tourists come to Siem Reap to visit the ruins built for kings many centuries ago. The slaves carved all of these statues out of rock. The photo of Angkor Wat was taken from a hot air balloon.

Phnom Penh Cambodia

Phnom Penh is a city of contrasts - great restaurants with French food, fancy bars and street poverty. It isn't common to see people over 35 as Pol Pot killed over a million people. It was very hot and many shops close for 2 hours in the middle of the day. The photos of the men sleeping in the pipe and on their 'wheels' were taken at this time.
