February 2016, Portugal page 3 - Sintra and Evora

Sintra is a 30 minute train ride from Lisbon. It has two famous and unusual castles.

Evora is 1.5 by bus from Lisbon. The old town still has its medieval wall, built in the 13th centrury. The houses are white with a yellow trim. It's a university city.

Hundreds of human bones and skeletons line the walls of a small church. Three monks decided to  take the bones from a cemetry and use them to decorate the church.

A roman temple, believed to be from the 2nd or 3rd century.
